摘要
DC series motor still provides the best drive for vertical elevators. Also there are many technologies for elevator propulsion. These new technologies facilitate easier and efficient use, better reliability, robustness of design and lesser maintenance. This paper endeavors to explore possibilities of using Single-Sided Linear Induction Motor (SLIM) drive for the elevators. An exploratory model of Single-Sided Linear induction Motor driven elevator has been presented. A prototype model is basic in nature. It demonstrates working of the basic drive component of an elevator. The SLIM has been specially designed and built for the prototype system.
