Splitting of coherent population-trapping resonances by the nuclear magnetic moment

摘要
We have observed the splitting of coherent population trapping resonances in Cs vapor due to the influence of the nuclear magnetic moment which is already resolved in a magnetic field of about the strength of the geostatic held. By choosing appropriate laser polarizations and field direction vector and quadrupole coupled transitions can be investigated separately. The splitting allows to determine the ratio of nuclear to electronic g-factors.
