摘要：

Current communications, broadcasting, television, video and other fields are facing from analog to digital technology changes, and digital audio, video technology has also attracted a data compression technology, and its application to open up a new space.Describes meaning of data compression, basic principles of data compression and Huffman coding algorithm, and discusses the types of data compression and data compression in image, audio and video in the field of application data compression techniques can effectively save data storage space, reduce data transmission time.
