Space charge in polyethylene and surface fluoridized polyethylene samples under DC high voltage application with long time

摘要
With the advantages such as excellent electrical and mechanical properties, low cost, simple maintenance, the polyethylene (PE) insulation power cable has been widely applied in high voltage transmission network. Many experiments have been done to summarizing laws of space charge distribution in surface fluorinated polyethylene subjected to DC voltage with short time. However, considering the complexity of the space charge behavior of surface fluorinated polyethylene samples, we report the measurements of charge distribution evolution made on surface fluorinated polyethylene samples subjected to a long time voltage of up to 40 kV. Through a large number of results, it is concluded that the surface fluorination of polyethylene has a small inhibitory effect on the space charge accumulation at the beginning, but there is no obvious improvement for the long time observing.
