摘要
This research presents a proposal for reading work-shops as an alternative for the development of en-vironmental education in university students. It is approached from a theoretical-methodological con-ception with the purpose of transforming the edu-cational reality. The elaboration of the proposal was preceded by a study of the peculiarities of university extension activities, their objectives and organiza-tional forms, as well as the conceptions of environ-mental education. For its development, the human and material potential of the territory was conside-red, based on the proposed objective, which con-sists of: demonstrating how interactive reading work-shops contribute to environmental education in the students of Aguada Municipality University Center. The application of the instruments, during the im-plementation of the proposal, allowed corroborating a greater development of environmental culture in university students, based on the knowledge they demonstrate and the understanding of the actions for the protection of the environment. The necessary conditions exist to continue its application in Aguada Municipality University Center and reading work-shops can be generalized based on their adaptation to new contexts.
