摘要
A numerical model is developed to examine the effect of core confinement on the behaviour of eccentrically loaded columns. The 3-D model uses the Microplane-M4 formulation with second order effects included using a total Lagrangian formulation. Comparisons with experimental results are presented and shown to model satisfactorily the load versus lateral displacement. Further development is required to include the effects of cover spalling into the formulation.
