摘要
This paper introduces the application of ground penetrating radar to the nondestructive testing of tunnels, especially for the compactness inspection of lining for mountainous tunnels. The principles, technology and the effect of this method are discussed. From the application of ground penetrating radar in the tunnel quality testing in Zhao-dai highway in Yunnan Province, 5 or 3 testing lines located on each spandrel, hance and the arch crown is enough for the testing. The ground penetrating radar is a nondestructive testing method which may detect the defects for tunnel engineering quickly and with low cost, it can be a foundation for the engineering evaluation and testing.
