Helicobacter pylori infection and non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug use are both well recognized causes of peptic ulcer disease. A number of studies published in the review period suggest that there is no clinically significant interaction between both ulcerogens. The available data are still scarce and so the possibility that H. pylori infection is a risk factor for the development of ulcers or its complications in patients taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is still not clear.
