摘要
The introduction of modern corrosion surveillance instrumentation has opened the pathway for conventional practices to be updated. The application of a risk-based approach to the siting of corrosion sensors, the selection of modern instrumentation that is capable of detecting the onset and propagation of localized attack as well as uniform corrosion and instantaneous correlation of on-line corrosion with process chemistry data as well as with periodic inspection results, presents the opportunity for both the severity and the duration of attack to be minimized. This paper considers each of these aspects in detail and illustrates the future prospect of plant-wide corrosion and condition management. (C) 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
