The study on the ordering mechanism in FePt thin films with rapid thermal annealing process

摘要
L1(0) ordering process for FePt thin films was examined by rapid thermal annealing with various temperatures and annealing times. A volume V of L1(0) ordered grain is calculated from grain diameter D by applying Scherrer's equation to XRD superlattice (001) peaks. A coercivity shows a linear increase until V reaches V-c = 1200 nm(3) and is similar to11 kOe in V > V-c. This behaviour of H-c is attributable to the change of domain wall pinning sites from order-disorder phase boundaries in V < V-c to both order-disorder phase boundaries and anti-phase (or c-axis variants) boundaries in V > V-c.
