Ageing evolution of the transformation behaviour in some NiTi-based melt-spun ribbons

摘要
The evolution during ageing at 500 degrees C of Ni50Ti50, Ni45Ti50Cu5 and Ni(50)Ti(32)Hf(18)B0.1 melt-spun ribbons has been studied. The transformation characteristics have been monitored by means of DSC and DMA, while TEM observations have been made to analyse the microstructure evolution of the ribbons. Annihilation of dislocations and precipitation processes are the main responsible of the observed changes in transformation behaviour, the equiatomic NiTi and the Hf containing ribbons being respectively the most and the least stable at 500 degrees C.
