摘要
Surgeons have played a central role in the development of endoscopy from its primitive origins to the development of modern high definition flexible endoscopes. In addition to creating new devices, they have been instrumental in developing new techniques and expanding therapeutic applications. Surgeons will continue to innovate new applications for existing technology and develop innovative new tools to expand therapeutic capabilities.
