摘要
Piezoelectric and electroestrictive ceramics have been used in many actuator applications as displacement transducers, pressure sensor, shape controllers and precision micropositioners. To meet these needs a composite actuator, called "Cymbal", based on a flextensional transducer was developed. The device is composed by a PZT ceramic disc sandwiched between two truncated conical metal endcaps, having a shallow cavity between the metal and the ceramic. In this work the cymbal's mechanical vibration response as a function of the driving frequency is studied. The main vibration modes are identified.
