Object: Observe the outcome of surgical treatment in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE). Method: retrospectively study 76 cases with TLE who received surgical treatments from 1980 to 1995 in our hospital. Results: (I) Satisfactory outcome in 38.2%, (2) Marked improvement in 39.6%, (3) Improvement in 10.2%, (4) Slight improvement and no improvement in 12%. Conclusion: Intractable TLE should be heated by surgical method and a satisfactory result can be expected.
