摘要
To assist a widespread application of lithium-ion batteries, it is important to simplify a manufacturing process for cathode materials. In this letter, we report a rapid synthesis of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 spinel by mechanical process using an attrition-type mill without external heating. This method is a simple, energy-saving and scalable synthesis compared with the traditional solid-state reaction. Moreover, the synthesized LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 powder was a granule consisting of nano-sized particles which has the potential to provide a high packing electrode. After mechanical synthesis, the anneal treatment improved the electrochemical performances of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, retaining its particle structure. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
