摘要
The properties of ceramic foams produced after sintering by refractory zirconia ceramic was investigated using gas pressure technique. The ceramic foams obtained were found to be excellent thermal insulators, provide high quality sound insulation and thermal resistivity, and was not affected by humidity. The zirconia-based ceramic foam is produced from heating composite SiC powder, shows that the foam height increased from 3.5 to 5.3 mm when the heating time is increased from 2 to 8 hrs. The apparent density of the foam is found to be 6.05 gcm-1, total porosity is 30% greater than the theoretical value, and the foam has a suitable mechanical strength. Swelling of gas phases formed from the decomposition of silicon carbide produced zirconia-based ceramics has a foam height less than 100 ppm. Thermal conductivity of polyfoam prototype is found to be 2.60 Wm-1K -1, which is 70% of the form with normal density.
