摘要
Monomer reactivity ratios have been determined for the radical copolymerizations of several vinyl ethers with either styrene or methyl methacrylate. The results permit some general conclusions to be drawn regarding the reactivities of the vinyl ethers, CH2=CH.O.R. When R is a comparatively small alkyl group, the reactivity of the vinyl ether towards the poly(methyl methacrylate) radical is low and almost independent of the precise nature of R; the reactivity is much lower when R is -CH2.CH2.Cl and also when R is a fairly large alkyl group, such as -C12H25, or an oxyethylene chain such as -CH2.CH2.O.CH2.CH2.OH.
