Corona discharge:: A simple method of its generation and study of its bactericidal properties

摘要
The apparatus enabling the generation of low-temperature plasma by DC negative point-to-plane corona discharge at atmospheric pressure in air was developed. The bactericidal effect of plasma was verified on cultures of six non-sporulating; aerobic bacterial species, inoculated onto the surface of various semisolid cultivation media. The bactericidal effect was evaluated quantitatively using the area of inhibition zones as its measure.
