摘要
In this study, we measured the face-sensitive N170 event-related potential (ERP) waveform using Emotiv EPOC+ mobile electroencephalography (EEG) and examined the effect of regression-based trigger timing correction under a limited number of triggers. Although previous studies demonstrated the efficacy of regression-based trigger timing correction for ERP analysis of EEG data obtained from Emotiv EPOC+, it was unclear whether this correction also works with a limited number of triggers. Moreover, we wanted to address this question using a recent version of the EEG acquisition software of Emotiv EPOC+, because previous studies predicted an improved temporal accuracy for a recent version. Results showed an N170-like waveform when original trigger timings were used as event onsets, but not when corrected trigger timings were used. This suggests that a recent version of the EEC acquisition software of EMOTIV EPOC+ has an improved temporal accuracy, and that trigger timing correction under a limited number of triggers should not he applied or at least be applied carefully.
