EBG at microwave frequency range: Bragg and/or resonant effect?

摘要
A rigorous consideration of the filtering effect of EBG structures at the microwave-frequency range will be performed in this paper. We will show that, in this frequency range, the periodic-structure filtering (or Bragg effect) and the self-resonance of the different cells involved are tuned approximately at the same frequencies; thus, their influences are mixed in the final filter response. Both effects are defined by different geometrical laws and this is probably the main reason not to use a standard design method for a given filter requirement when using these technologies.
