摘要
When the cavity length is varied in a Nd: YVO4 laser with intracavity frequency doubling, the usual mode-locked state can split yielding two mode-locked states with different repetition rates. The two states may coexist, interact and transform from one to the other as the cavity length is varied. The transformation is accompanied by hatching of the beat note signal. Both states are well-balanced: the changes in one state manifest with equivalent amplitudes in the other state. We propose that this effect is an evidence of a bifurcation sequence phenomenon.
