摘要
The article deals with the evaluation of ecological benefits of biofuel E85. E85 is constituted by 85 % of ethanol and 15 % of gasoline. Measurements were carried out on two vehicles. Engines of these vehicles were subsequently rebuilt for E85 combustion. Measurements were carried out using chassis dynamometer in the laboratories of the Department of Engineering and Automobile Transport at Mendel University in Brno. Analysis of measurement results showed ecological potential of bioethanol. The level of exhaust emission decrease at E85 combustion is given by the engine wear and engine adjustment which is necessary due to low heating value of bioethanol. The authors of similar studies also concluded that combustion of E85 fuel has positive impact on reducing harmful exhaust emissions produced by vehicles fueled by gasoline.
