摘要：

China has the world's largest elderly population, with a considerable number of elderly people gradually becoming the disadvantaged group members. Through analysis, the main reasons that cause the poverty of the elderly population are the imperfect social security system, lack of work and service supply, discrimination, family size shrinking and inter-generational relationship favors the young generation, and elders' physical and mental problems. Accordingly, this article brings the ideas of improving the social security system for the elderly, establishing the service system and agencies, eliminating elder discrimination, building a society of respect and love towards the old.
