Irrespective of the type of holding, the development and the implementation of the production program involves the use of concepts and techniques from the production domain which may determine the achievement of the objectives from the strategic plan consistent with the reality and potential of that unit and, therefore, the implementation of the strategy. This paper presents a theoretical and practical approach to develop a Production program in a farm located in the South Region of Romania, which aims to increase the chance of economic performance. Planning techniques used to achieve the objective aim at obtaining competitive advantages and reduce risks by anticipating economic and production results. Thus, by the methodology used in drafting the production program, is created a scientific database, with the purpose of diagnosis and assessment of the quality level of performance recorded, in order to substantiate the strategic plan of the agricultural company, in a dynamic competitive environment. The study results represent a means of knowledge, information and evaluation of the technical - economic potential and of production resource efficiency from the agricultural company, in order to substantiate the financial decisions, the development and application of rational decisions, so that aiming at achieving the production projected, to reach at positive economic results.
