摘要
Vamsapriya indica gen. et sp. nov. is reported from decaying culms of bamboo, Bambusa arundinacea (Gramineae or Poaceae), collected at Yellapur, Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, India. The fungus is unique in producing catenate, phragmosporous conidia on synnematous conidiophores with non-cicatrized, monotretic conidiogenous cells. The novel genus is described and illustrated, and compared with two closely resembling genera, Didymobotryum and Podosporium.
