Anterior knee pain is an extremely common problem in the active population including adolescents. It is easy to become numb to the issue when in a busy sports medicine practice one sees this entity time after time. However, we must be ever vigilant for the case that does not quite fit. In this case we present an unusual cause of anterior knee pain in an adolescent male basketball player.
