SiO2 Nanoparticle Sequestration via Reactive Functionalization in Holographic Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystals

摘要
Holographic photopolymerization of reactively functionalized silica nanoparticles in polymer/liquid-crystal systems leads to sequestration of the silica nanoparticles in the polymeric domain of holographic polymer-dispersed liquid-crystals Bragg gratings. Excellent dispersion of the nanoparticles maintains the optical properties of the reflection grating without additional scattering while lowering the voltage necessary to switch the state of the grating.
