摘要：

The contextualisation of the description of the forms of the 3rd person pronoun in French shows that they build up a patchwork characterized by the use of elements from different grammatical categories and by internal asymmetry. The description usually provided by French grammar books does not help the FFL learner to understand the internal logic of the system. However, the different parameters can be easily identified and described and it is possible to provide the FFL learner with a specific set of rules that allow him to choose the appropriate pronoun form.
