摘要
The applicability of the laser flash method for measuring the thermal diffusivity of highly porous materials is investigated in cordierite, alumina and mullite materials. The surface roughness associated to the porosity produces some indetermination in the measurement of the sample thickness which induces errors in the thermal diffusivity calculation. This problem can be partially overcome by attaching two thin Cu layers to both surfaces of the samples and/or correcting the thickness with the mean pore size. It is shown that these corrections are only necessary in the case of coarse porosity samples.
