Instability in turbulent shear flows with or without rotation

摘要
Instability of two- and three-dimensional steady or oscillatory rotating or nonrotating near wall shear flows, in the presence of turbulence, is investigated. It is found that such flows are subjected to early algebraic and exponential linear or nonlinear instabilities for nonrotating and rotating flow cases, respectively. The instability found for the rotating system is stronger, but less probable than the corresponding one, which occurs for the nonrotating system.
