Localized phonons in a pristine polyacene chain

摘要
Within an extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, we investigate the localized phonons in a pristine polyacene chain, in which there is an interchain-coupled neutral soliton of D-2h symmetry. In addition to three pairs of twofold-degenerate edge modes (three infrared active and three Raman active), we found in total nine localized modes, among which four (three B-2u and one B-3u) modes are infrared active and the others (two A(g) and three B-1g) modes are Raman active.
