摘要:
In this study, we evaluated whether Hesperetin (HT), which is citrus flavonoids, affects lipid accumulation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production during adipogenesis and underlying molecular actions. To this end, cells were incubated in the presence or absence of HT during adipocyte differentiation. Oil Red O (ORO) staining showed that lipid accumulation was inhibited by 63% at a concentration of 25 M HT compared to control. Additionally, treatment with HT inhibited the expression of adipogenic factors and lipogenic factors. Moreover, our results showed that the decreased expression of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) and NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX4) induced by HT reduced ROS production during adipocyte differentiation. HT also exhibited ROS scavenging activity associated with its antiadipogenic effects during adipogenesis. These results show the inhibitory effect of HT on lipid accumulation and ROS production during adipocyte differentiation. These findings suggest that HT could be a potential agent for combating obesity and oxidative-related diseases. Practical applicationsHT is a bioflavonoid that has been studied for its antilipid synthesis and antioxidative properties. However, the effects of HT on lipid accumulation and oxidative stress during adipogenesis and the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects are poorly understood. In the present study, we show the inhibitory effect of HT on lipid accumulation and reactive oxygen species production during adipocyte differentiation. These findings suggest that HT is a promising bioactive agent for the treatment of obesity and oxidative stress.
