摘要
Z-scan technique is applied to a saturable medium described by a generalized three-level scheme of photoexcitation in the condition of overlapping spectra of the ground and excited states. Correctness of the Z-scan data interpretation is analyzed in the framework of the model. The approach is applied for measuring the refractive indices Delta n(0) and n(2) in polymer films containing bacteriorhodopsin. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
