摘要
Multicolor luminescence (ML) carbon dots (CDs) synthesized from sugar by single excitation wavelength have been studied by using photo-luminescence (PL) spectroscopy, ultra-violet visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy. The UV-vis absorption spectra shows n-pi interband transitions at 295 nm which were corresponding with C=C bonds (confirm by FTIR spectra) of aromatic rings in the core state and pi-pi* surface plasmon from the surface state at 336-356 nm which were corresponding with C-O bond. Luminescence of CDs when exited at 420 nm shows emission wavelengths at 507 nm (cyan) for 18 mg ml(-1) (C1) concentration of SDs, 534 nm (green) for 22 mg ml(-1) (C2), and 558 nm (yellow) for 31 mg ml(-1) (C3). For ML-CDs mixing with basic paint shows stable glow for C3 due to the stability bonding formation at the surface state, indicated that CDs in this study show high potentials for painting glows applications.
