摘要
Comprehensive smoking cessation programmes at worksites often combine quit smoking methods with an antismoking health education campaign and smoking bans. These latter strategies provide cessation methods with an 'enriched environment' in which participation in smoking cessation activities may be higher and quitting may be easier. This paper examines whether an 'enriched environment' improves cessation among those who elect not to join formal cessation methods. Four hundred and thirty-eight smokers from eight large worksites participated in the study. Eighteen-months follow-up results were analysed with regression analyses. We did not find that an 'enriched environment' motivates or helps non-participating smokers to quit smoking.
