摘要：
This paper discusses the instrumentation, methods, problems, and main results of studying geomagnetic cyclicity on various scales, from a few hundred to a few hundred million years, expressed in variations of geomagnetic field values and directions, excursions, reversals, paleointensity variations, frequency of reversals, etc. Some relationships between processes in the core and at the Earth's surface are noted.
