Assessment of slope stability during the change of matric suction

摘要
This paper is aimed at disclosing the mechanism of the slope failure triggered by rainfall. Empirical parameters that can predict the relationship between volumetric water content and suction pressure were determined experimentally For the weathered soils that cover natural slopes. Numerical analysis was performed to predict the change of suction pressure within a natural slope. Also, the change of suction pressures was measured during rainy season for the slope, The measured suction pressures were compared with values obtained from the numerical analysis and the discrepancy was discussed. Scope stability analysis was performed, considering the change in the suction pressure.
