Narrative models, digital models: towards a rapprochement

Despite the presence of digital technology both as a new field of study and as a new tool for analysis, the possibility of adopting a fundamentally computational approach to the study of narratives seems to be very little explored, even though computational models of narratives exist, particularly in computer science. After an overview of these models, we outline the prospect of adopting a scientific approach to modeling/simulating narratives with a view to consolidating existing narratological models, while mentioning some of the difficulties inherent in such an approach.
