An analysis of prestressed tank resting on an elastic foundation by transfer matrix method

摘要
Cylindrical tank analysis was very simplified theoretically by researchers who adapted the analogy of a beam on an elastic foundation to axisymmetric shells. The hoop tension on shell due to the internal pressure is always the main problem in the cylindrical tank analysis and construction. To reduce the hoop tension prestressing is usually used at the construction site. The prestressed cylindrical tank on an elastic foundation was transformed to a skeletonlike structure by BEF analogy and analysed by the transfer matrix. The loss of the prestressing force was considered in the analysis. The maximum size of the matrix to analyse the structure is 6 by 6 only.
