The analysis of the data on the properties of oils of the Bazhenov suite and the conditions of their occurrence in the West Siberian oil and gas basin is carried out. The average values of physico-chemical characteristics of Bazhenov's oils are determined. A scheme for placing these oils on the territory of Western Siberia is presented. Using the quality index, an analysis of the qualitative features of Bazhenov's oils was carried out. The analysis showed that these oils belong to two classes high and medium quality. Bazhenov oil of medium quality, in contrast to high-quality oils, is depleted in the content of petroleum gas (more than 3 times) and diesel fractions. The results of the research can be used when drafting new and elaborating existing methods and technologies for the production and processing of hard-to-recover oils of the Bazhenov suite.
