The English Engineering Faculty of the Donetsk National Technical University (DonNTU), Donetsk, Ukraine, has undertaken the task to widely utilise Computer Aided Technologies (CAT) in the engineering training process. The main goal of this project is coordinating the major courses of its curricula to suit European standards and industry and education rapid development. Computer Aided Technologies include reference to the use of modern information technologies, software and hardware; it may involve sophisticated fabrication, assembly, finishing and quality control equipment and incorporate microprocessor-driven control systems, lasers, computerised robots, optical scanners and other new modern materials and processes. Major changes in the content of the curriculum and the list of engineering specialties at the Donetsk National Technical University have recently. been introduced that will require all undergraduates to continue the development of professional and personal skills within their degree programmes using special creative learning methods. The interaction of such methods and modern Computer Aided Technologies is the subject of the paper.
