CISIS: reversible treatment of high myopia and keratoconus

摘要：
A new Corneal intrastromal implantation system (CISIS) for the treatment of high myopia and keratoconus is presented. Myopia beyond 10 diopters and even advanced cases of keratoconus can be treated. The system consists of a particular microkeratome (PocketMaker) for the creation of an almost closed intracorneal pocket, and the flexible full-ring implant (MyoRing) to be inserted into the corneal pocket via a small incission tunnel. The mechanism of action is increasing the central corneal curvature and regularisation of the central corneal surface by addition of volume to the corneal periphery. The procedure is quick and easy to perform.
