摘要
In the era of globalization and information technology, whereby organizations will have to come to terms with the high turnover of the workforce, government around the world, and not just the Malaysian government have realized that is it crucial in retaining the expert within the workforce in order to stay competitive in the world market. This paper will focus on the second condition where organization starts to strategize for their knowledge retention process 3-12 months before employee separation takes place. Adopting the qualitative research approach, the researchers have chosen to study the engineers at the Public Works Department of Malaysia. The study will look at how the engineers' strategic knowledge assets are being retained to ensure the sustainability of its values and to look at the maturity stage of these engineers' knowledge retention initiatives.
