摘要
Sonar images are generally used for the identification of objects under the sea. The images which are obtained by sonar technology are always gray scale images. For the identification of objects in images, the image processing technique is having some intermediate steps like filtering of noise, edge detection, and segmentation. Edge detection is one of the important steps for image segmentation and object identification. In this paper, edge detection using fuzzy logic technique and the block processing technique is compared. Subjective analysis of the result proves that the fuzzy method is better than the block processing for the identification of objects together with the shadow region in sonar images.
