摘要
Aluminum is the must widely used metal after steel. Due to its convenient material properties, this material can be used in several products. The high energy requirement for mining and melting aluminum is one of the major disadvantage: of this material. Although, the re-melting of aluminum scrap can reduce the. energy requirements, the needed energy for the melting process itself is still high. This article presents a process chain of a direct conversion technology of aluminum chips by cutting, compaction of the chips to billets, hot extrusion to a rectangular square profile, and finally characterization of the profile properties. It is shown that by the direct conversion, melting the chips for secondary use may become unnecessary. Due to the fact that this process chain doesn't need a melting process, there will be great advantage over the conventionally process chain to save ecological and economical resources.
