摘要
Large-tonnage, high-grade gold deposits in the Eastern Goldfields Province result from the interplay of two chemically contrasting fluid systems. Oxidized magmatic hydrothermal fluids (brines and vapours) were sourced from 2665-2650 Ma mafic and syenitic granite-magmas. Chemically contrasting, anhydrous and reduced fluids, composed dominantly of H-2 - H2S +/- CH4, were sourced from the deep crust/mantle. An emerging understanding of the architectural and geodynamic controls on the interaction of the two fluid systems is providing a conceptual framework to aid exploration for major gold resources.
