Scattered fields by a sphere present in near field of a Hertz dipole

摘要
In this paper, fields scattered by a sphere near a Hertz dipole are derived using a rigorous analytical method with Mie scattering approach. However, the incident filed on the sphere has not been considered a plane wave, rather these are the fields radiated from Hertz dipole. A general solution of fields scattered by the sphere has been sought, when the sphere is present in Near- and Far-Field of Hertz dipole. These scattered fields have been obtained for spheres of two different radii in Near- and Far-Field of Hertz dipole. Finally, it has been shown that when the sphere is in the far field of Hertz dipole, the scattered electric fields in theta and phi directions have the same pattern as the radiation pattern of theta and phi electric fields of Hertz dipole. When the sphere is closer to dipole, the pattern of scattered filed components significantly deviate from the radiation pattern of radial and theta electric fields of Hertz dipole.
