Acupuncture is art ancient Chinese medical therapy that is gaining popularity steadily in the Western world. In the West, acupuncture is used most frequently for musculoskeletal pain problems and stress-related disorders. Although high-quality research in the field is still in its infancy, improvements in research methodology and understanding of the physiology of pain and disease promise to advance the status of this therapy from alternative to mainstream.
