摘要：

The PHENIX experiment took data with transversely polarized proton beams from RUN1 in 2001 through RUN8 in 2008 and measured several transverse single spin asymmetries in various reactions in two kinematic regions; mid rapidity, near X-F similar to 0 in inclusive neutral pion and charged hadron production at transverse momenta up to 5 GeV/c with results consistent with zero, and the forward rapidity, where large asymmetries were observed in inclusive neutral pion production similar to those previously seen by the STAR and BRAHMS detectors. Also presented are the unique PHENIX results on asymmetries in inclusive open charm and charmonium production along with PHENIX upgrades and future plans.
