A new sort of sol-gel derived organic-inorganic molecular-based hybrid material with the organic part of ortho aminobenzoic acid derivative grafted by 3-(triethoxysilyl)-propyl isocyanate covalently linked together via Tb-O and Si-O bonds was prepared. The intramolecular energy transfer process efficiently took place within this molecular-based hybrids and a strong green emission of Tb3+ was achieved. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
